In 2016 we officially established an International Office back in the UK having been entirely based in Uganda up until that point. Over the years we have felt a pull to support those in poverty where we find ourselves in the UK as well. Over the last couple of years we have been working alongside a community in Tower Hamlets, London. Almost half the children in Tower Hamlets live in poverty; the highest rate in London. Through working in this disadvantaged area we aim to connect with the socially isolated to see lives and relationships restored.

At the moment our operations have had to be paused due to Coronavirus but we are excited to take the opportunity to re-imagine what our work could look like in the UK.

It is our greatest joy to see Jesus at work wherever we go. Whether we have a well established mission base with many exciting programmes or just a starting point, He is ready and waiting…

Reaching Out

One of the biggest needs we noticed in Tower Hamlets was a safe space for children. Before the pandemic hit every Monday afternoon our team would run ‘The Family Hub’. This was a place where anyone was welcome to come and chat; where people could find support, encouragement, prayer or just a listening ear.
We have had some amazing conversations, been able to give support to families suffering abuse, prayer for those who are sick and lonely and fun for children on their way home from school with parents. It is so good to see what God can do with small simple steps of faith and love. While we can’t meet in person we can still support from a distance at this time.

At Every Life we try to live a lifestyle of prayer and worship. We believe it’s a powerful foundation for change wherever we work. When we “Set [our] minds on things above, not on earthly things” (Col. 3:2) we remember all that God has done and that he is able and willing to work again, with us, today.  As we seek to begin to fulfill all that God has planned for us in the UK this foundation is our first priority.

Vision for the future

Our dream is that our UK centre becomes a place of community and new beginnings for families and people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds.
